ITC Level 3 Outdoor First Aid 16 Hour RQF

This 2 day course is aimed at anyone who ventures off the beaten track, from hanging off buildings to hiking mountains and paddling various waterways. 

Our highly qualified instructors will arm you with knowledge and confidence to deliver aid to someone while also managing the elements that come with being in the great outdoors. 

There is a chance that working in the outdoors means that you could have to wait a while for the emergency services to arrive and take over, or even required to extract your casualty from a dangerous environment. These moments are essential in knowing how to control the situation and manage the casualty. You will learn how to confidently deal with a situation similar to this, and how to utilise the surroundings around you.

    • Roles and Responsibilities
    • Dealing with collapse (with and without breathing)
    • CPR (including paediatrics)
    • Choking
    • Bleeding
    • Shock
    • Burns
    • Major illnesses
    • Monitoring the casualty
    • Head, torso and limb injuries
    • Spinal injuries
    • Helmat removal
    • Environmental effects
    • Heat and cold injuries
    • Effects of altitude (AMS / HACE / HAPE)
    • Using first aid kit
    • Outdoor specific scenarios
    • Outdoor incident management
    • Prolonged casualty management

This qualification is designed to provide Outdoor Incident Management techniques and latest protocols. Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical, with elements occurring out of doors in outdoor clothing and on various terrains. 

This course is recognised by all outdoor governing bodies: MTA, BC, RYA, BEL, BCA, BKSA, BASI, GNAS, BSAC, PADI, IRATA, Forest School, etc. the course exceeds the recommendations for the HSE Emergency First Aid at Work and certificates are valid for 3 years.
